TV ratings: ‘V’ falls, CBS rises to win Tuesday
Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009The second episode of "V" fell off quite a bit from its premiere, while "NCIS" and the rest of the CBS lineup improved on their performances from last week en route to another Tuesday ratings win.
CBS drew 16.4 million viewers and a 10.3 rating/16 share in households for the night, easily beating second-place ABC (11.9 million, 7.6/12). NBC (8.3 million, 5.1/8) came in third. FOX took fourth with 5.7 million viewers and a 3.5/5. The CW finished with 1.8 million viewers and a 1.2/2.
CBS also led the adults 18-49 demographic with a 3.5 rating, though its margin of victory was a lot smaller: both ABC, 3.2, and NBC, 3.1, were fairly close behind. FOX snagged fourth with a 2.3, and The CW scored a 0.9.

We've learned that James Franco will be called "Franco" on his "General Hospital" stint and that he won't be working an eye patch. ‘Vampire Diaries’: Sean Faris to sling drinks in Mystic Falls
Hey "The Vampire Diaries" fans, if you love the pretty, you'll be happy with some new blood coming to Mystic Falls.Sean Faris, who starred in the big screen's "Never Back Down," will visit "Vampire Diaries" for a multiple-episode run, a rep confirms.
Apparently, Faris, 27, is heading to Atlanta Wednesday to begin shooting his "Vampire Diaries" role as "a sexy bartender named Ben," publicist Craig Schneider tells Zap2it.
Naturally, this sexy Ben will somehow get mixed up with vampire business and one of the lovely ladies. Otherwise, what's the point of importing another pretty face? We're actually happy that he'll be playing a regular, blood-pumping human as far as we know. Leave the brooding vampire stuff to Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder.
Faris had previously starred on "Reunion" and "life as we know it," neither of which lasted one complete season. Twice bitten, the actor had vowed to Zap2it's Korbi Ghosh that he'd never to do TV again, but could he really pass up The CW's fangtastic hit and a chance to jump on the vampire bandwagon? Not bloody likely. Fang fans, rejoice!

Carrie Underwood: The more she eats…
This "American Idol" beauty has to work to flaunt her svelte figure.
Carrie Underwood tells Extra that her tummy "is an Underwood family tradition" and that her rear end "starts going in and out so I have to work really hard to have it stay where it's supposed to be." She says her diet has changed to exclude junk food and she tries to stay hydrated with both regular water and Vitamin Water.
Carrie also gave Shape her exercise secrets in the February 2008 issue (pictured above). "We got really simple, basic stuff, because if it was complicated, I knew I wouldn't have used it. My favorite thing is cardio. It really helps the
pounds melt off, and it gives me so much more energy ... Working out has really paid off
on stage."
This Idol beauty is anything but idle -- Carrie just released her third album, "Play On," on Nov 3, she's co-hosting the Country Music Awards with Brad Paisley Wednesday, Nov. 11 and she's also busy preparing for her holiday show "Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special," airing Dec. 7 on FOX.
