Reese Witherspoon is looking to make the rules. Starting, of course, with “Rule #1.” The “Monsters vs. Aliens” star has agreed to star in “Rule #1,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. What’s it about? We don’t know much, other than that it follows a New York woman (presumably Witherspoon) who befriends a Peurto Rican woman with ADD. Comedy? Drama? Dakota Fanning has played the good girl throughout her career, in movies including “The Cat in the Hat” and “The Secret Life of Bees.” In “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” Fanning gets a chance to explore her dark side. The actress plays Jane, a member of the Volturi vampire elite. Maybe it’s because the others get cool names like Aro and Caius while she’s stuck with plane Jane, but it’s safe to say Fanning’s character is the baddest Volturi of all. That suits Dakota just fine. “I think it’s more fun to play a bad person than a good person,” Fanning told Extra. “She almost blows your mind how evil she is.” She definitely looks evil, or at least Goth-y. Who ya gonna call? Nobody we know, if Dan Aykroyd gets his way for “Ghostbusters 3.” In recent years, attempts at a third “Ghostbusters” flick have been hampered by attempts to convince reticent cast members — Bill Murray, we’re looking at you — to revisit their ’80s characters. Aykroyd may have found a way around that by vowing to cast unknowns in a movie he says is “very close” to happening. “I hope it’s a nice mix, maybe two guys and two girls,” the actor told New York magazine Oct. 28. “We’ll find some great young actors.
